Teen Court

Henderson County Teen Court is a diversionary court that keeps first and second-time juvenile offenders aged 11-17 and 18-19, out of the court system. The offenders who are willing to admit guilt are held accountable for their actions. A jury of the juvenile’s peers may assign the juvenile to counsel, restitution, curfews, community service, or other rehabilitative measures. Teen Court programs are proven to reduce recidivism rates of young people and to restore their relationship with the community.
